The 2025 College STUNT National Championship wrapped in epic fashion this past weekend, as the nation’s top programs hit the mat in a championship showdown hosted by Lipscomb University and Trevecca Nazarene University. Across five divisions, the competition brought dominant dynasties, emotional comebacks, and first-time champions to center stage.

Led by Head Coach Brandon Seagondollar, the Lancers completed another undefeated season, pushing their program record to an unprecedented 107-0—a streak unmatched in college STUNT.
Division II: Redemption for Davenport
Davenport University bounced back from its 2024 finals loss by toppling Oklahoma Baptist in the semifinals and outlasting 2024 NAIA champion Jessup University in the final. The 15-12 victory reclaimed the crown and showcased their resolve under pressure.
Division III: George Fox Makes History
In only their second year of STUNT, George Fox University broke through with a gritty 9-7 win over Muskingum. With Alma College moving to the Club division, George Fox becomes the first active D-III team to earn the national title—a massive statement for the Bruins’ rising program.
NAIA: Hope International’s Moment
Hope International University captured its first NAIA title with a consistent, clean showing through a challenging bracket. Their poised performances prove they’re not just contenders—they’re champions.
Club Division: OSU Outlasts Alma
Oklahoma State University claimed Club Division gold, edging past Alma College 16-14 in a back-and-forth thriller. Their precision in the final quarter made the difference, securing a statement win to cap their season.
STUNT’s Rapid Rise
Classified as an NCAA Emerging Sport for women, STUNT is among the fastest-growing sports in the nation. The sport continues to expand rapidly across high schools and universities, opening new doors for female athletes with competitive opportunities and scholarship potential.
What is STUNT?
STUNT is a head-to-head competition format that removes crowd-leading elements to spotlight technical cheer skills—stunts, pyramids, basket tosses, tumbling, and jumps. Teams compete in four quarters, and points are awarded based on execution and precision. Created in 2010 by USA Cheer, STUNT was designed to align with Title IX and showcase the athletic side of cheer. It now spans hundreds of schools and continues pushing toward full NCAA championship sport status.
USA Cheer’s Take
“This year’s championship showcased the rapid rise of STUNT as a powerhouse sport for women,” said Lauri Harris, USA Cheer’s Executive Director. “From D-I to Club, the execution, talent, and grit on display were outstanding.”
