The 2024 Australian All Star Cheerleading Federation (AASCF) Nationals are ready to break records, with over 12,000 athletes and 30,000 spectators set to descend on Gold Coast, Queensland, from December 5-9. This year’s event marks the largest cheer and dance competition ever hosted in Australia, featuring 2,400 teams competing over four action-packed days.
The AASCF Nationals highlight the best of Australia’s cheerleading while showcasing the sport’s rapid growth. With the event hosted at one of the nation’s favorite venues, the Gold Coast will sparkle with the energy and athleticism of the nation’s top teams, all vying for the coveted Australian National Champion title. Select winners will even represent Australia at the 2025 IASF World Cheerleading and Dance Championships.
AASCF Managing Director Kerry Perry expressed excitement over the event’s return to Gold Coast:
“We are incredibly proud of our event’s continued growth, and this year’s Nationals will showcase and celebrate the best cheerleading and dance within Australia.”
The 2024 AASCF Nationals will mark the largest cheer and dance event ever held outside the United States, underlining Australia’s prominence on the global cheerleading stage. Local businesses, tourism entities, and the Queensland Government are all lending support to ensure this event’s success, reflecting the far-reaching impact of cheerleading on community and culture.
As Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate remarked, “We are proud to have the largest cheerleading and dance event outside of the United States right here on the Gold Coast.”
