Netflix’s newest reality competition, Battle Camp, is bringing together 18 stars from its Reality Universe, including two of cheerleading’s most well-known athletes—Gabi Butler and Morgan Simianer. Known for their time on Netflix’s hit docuseries Cheer, these two powerhouse athletes are stepping off the blue mat and into a cutthroat competition unlike anything they’ve faced before.
Launching April 23, Battle Camp will test competitors in intense physical and strategic challenges for a shot at $250,000. But this isn’t just any reality competition—players must endure high-stakes eliminations, brutal punishments, and a giant spinning “wheel of misfortune” that determines their fate. The unpredictable format means even the strongest competitors could find themselves on the chopping block at any moment.
Hosted by former NFL star Taylor Lewan, the show features a mix of reality TV veterans from Love Is Blind, The Circle, Perfect Match, Too Hot to Handle, Selling the OC, and even Squid Game: The Challenge. Each contestant brings their own strategy, but none may be as prepared as the two all-star cheerleaders who’ve spent years training under the pressure of elite competition.
Both Gabi and Morgan became household names through the Netflix TV series Cheer, where they trained under Navarro College’s legendary coach Monica Aldama. Their journey showcased the discipline, endurance, and teamwork needed to perform at the highest levels of the sport. Now, they’re taking that same work ethic into a completely different battle.
Meet the Competitors:

- Gabi Butler – A two-time World Cheerleading Champion, Gabi is no stranger to high-pressure competition. Over the years, she has built a reputation as one of the sport’s most recognized athletes. Her experience with tumbling, strength training, and teamwork could make her a serious contender. But she knows she has something to prove. “I’m here to show that I’m not just a cheerleader who shakes pom-poms,” she says. “I can bring a lot to the table for this competition.”

- Morgan Simianer – One of the most beloved figures from Cheer, Morgan is known for her resilience, heart, and ability to push through adversity. While she may not be the flashiest athlete in the group, she has grit, determination, and the ability to handle high-stress situations. “The way this game is created and designed, you really have no idea who’s going to win,” Morgan explains. “It could be anybody’s game from the get-go.”
The big question is: Will their background in elite cheer help them dominate Battle Camp?
Competitive cheerleading is one of the most physically demanding sports in the world. Athletes must master complex stunts, execute powerful tumbling passes, and build endurance for two-and-a-half-minute routines—often performing on little rest.
However, one potential weakness could be the social game. Reality competitions often require deception, manipulation, and backstabbing—skills that may not come as naturally to athletes who thrive on trust and teamwork.
With this mix of physical and social threats, Battle Camp will be unpredictable at every turn.
With high-intensity challenges, dramatic eliminations, and an unpredictable format, Battle Camp is shaping up to be one of Netflix’s most thrilling reality competitions yet. Can Gabi and Morgan’s cheer skills give them the edge they need to win?
