NCA All-Star Nationals, the largest event in competitive cheerleading, will shift its location from Dallas to Houston beginning in 2026. This move brings the event to the George R. Brown Convention Center and the Toyota Center through 2028, with NCA aiming to recreate the renowned Dallas arena atmosphere within the Toyota Center. The relocation will enable the competition to continue its traditional end-of-February dates despite ongoing construction at Dallas’ Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.
Earlier this year, Varsity initially planned to keep the competition in Dallas but announced a significant date change for the 2026 NCA All-Star National Championship. Traditionally held in February at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, the event was slated for January 9-11, 2026. However, due to construction updates impacting Dallas venues, NCA ultimately decided to move the event to Houston, allowing it to return to its traditional end-of-February scheduling.

NCA All-Star Nationals has become one of the most anticipated weekends of the cheer season. In 2024, it set a new record with 1,564 teams competing, surpassing the previous record of 1,405 teams in 2023.
NCA’s Justin Carrier released a statement highlighting the careful planning behind this decision:
“We want to update everyone that NCA All-Star Nationals, one of the most anticipated events in the world of cheerleading, will be moving to the George R. Brown Convention Center and Toyota Center in Houston, Texas in 2026, 2027, and 2028.”
“This decision wasn’t made lightly. The upcoming revitalizations at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas will create a wonderful new space. Still, we wanted to ensure our event maintains its exceptional scale and experience for everyone involved. Houston is just a short drive from Dallas, and it offers many of the same great city perks you’ve come to love at our event.”
Houston, approximately a three-hour drive from Dallas, will host this record-breaking event, providing athletes, coaches, and fans with a new yet familiar environment. NCA officials expressed confidence that Houston will serve as “a wonderful setting for the next few years of unforgettable moments and spirited competition.”
