The Spirit Network (TSN) is kicking off the upcoming season with a powerhouse addition—Dan Kessler has been named Vice President. Known for his extensive experience and deep roots in the cheer and dance industry, Kessler brings a wealth of knowledge and a track record of success to the TSN team.
Tammy Van Vleet, Director of TSN, expressed her excitement about Kessler joining the team. “Dan adds to our gym-focused approach to make events fun for kids, affordable for parents, and exceptional customer service for owners and coaches,” she shared. Kessler’s addition is expected to further elevate TSN’s reputation for delivering top-notch experiences at every event, reinforcing its position as a leader in the cheer and dance community.
Kessler’s journey in the cheerleading world began during his time at the University of Louisville, where he transitioned from collegiate soccer to the intense world of stunting and cheerleading. His natural talent and relentless drive for perfection mirrored his business acumen, leading him to join the team at JAM Brands alongside Aaron Flaker and Emmett Tyler in 2000. Under their leadership, JAM Brands grew from hosting a single event, JAMFest, into a 130-event-a-year production company that became a staple in the cheerleading and dance competition circuit.
In 2015, JAM Brands was acquired by Varsity, the industry’s dominant force, marking a significant milestone in Kessler’s career. The acquisition by Varsity was a testament to the success and influence of JAM Brands. This experience solidifies Kessler’s reputation as a strategic leader with a deep understanding of the competitive cheer industry.
At TSN, Kessler will focus on leveraging his extensive industry relationships to expand the network’s reach. His goal is to enhance the TSN event experience, ensuring that every competition, showcase, and camp is executed with the highest level of excellence and creativity.
