Ever since binge-watching America’s Sweethearts, we’ve been eagerly waiting to see which of our favorite hopefuls would secure a spot on the 2024 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (DCC) team.
Throughout the seven-part Netflix series, we became deeply invested in the journeys of these cheerleading hopefuls, celebrating their victories and feeling their heartbreaks. With only 36 coveted positions on the squad, the suspense during the audition process was intense.
The 2024 DCC team has officially been announced, and it’s everything we hoped for and more. Let’s dive into the details and see if your favorite made the cut.
Great news! Kelly Villares, whose dreams were dashed in America’s Sweethearts, has officially made the 2024 DCC team. Kelly’s journey was full of twists and turns. Her fate on the team was uncertain throughout the show, and she even underwent a dramatic transformation during training camp, switching from bright blonde to deep brunette in hopes of bettering her chances.
Despite her initial setback, Kelly didn’t give up. She returned, brown hair and all, to audition for the 2024 squad. Her perseverance paid off, and we can’t wait to see her perform with the rest of the team.
In more exciting news, fan-favorite Charly Barby also earned a spot on the 2024 DCC team. Charly’s departure from America’s Sweethearts was one of the most emotional moments of the series, particularly because of her close bond with fellow rookie-hopeful Reece Weaver, who made the team that year.
Charly promised Reece, “I’ll be back with you next year,” and her determination paid off. Reece welcomed Charly back, fulfilling the promise they made to each other.
We’re thrilled that many of our favorites from last year’s team are returning. Madeline Salter is a fourth-year veteran, while Anna Kate Sundvoled and Reece Weaver are second-year veterans. You can see the full team here:
